Little Mermaid

Kenidee loves the little mermaid. She would watch it all day long it I would let her. So when I went to Disney land I brought her all the princess dolls and she holds up the little mermaid and tells me who she is.
Well... last week Kenidee was at my mom's while I was working on the house, and her aunt rachelle taught her what a mermaid says. So in her little voice she sings the ahhhh ahhhh ahhh ahh ahhhh ( you know what I am singing here right?) Well Rachelle also did it with some great vibrato. So Kenidee Tries to sing it like a 80 year old lady at church. It is so cute I will try to get it recorded and see if I can get it to post. Rachelle has brought out Kenidee's "voice" she hums and sings all over the place. I love it.
Now when I rock Kenidee (yes I rock my "Baby" still) I hum a song my mom would sing to us as kids, and if I don't start right away she starts humming. She loves it and sometimes when I lay her down she still keeps humming. She is so cute!

What a big girl!

Kenidee is getting so big! She is figuring out new things every day. She now knows that she can reach so much more if she takes her pink plastic stool with her. I was soaking some dishes the other day and she could see the bubbles in the sink and she wanted them. I told her they were dirty bubbles, and left to do something. When I came back in she had her little pink stool up to the sink so she could reach the bubbles.
She is also saying new words all the time. I bought a toy for my nephew’s birthday, it says colors and letters and the sounds of letters, Anyway she was listening to the colors and then from the back seat they toy would say blue and she would say boo, the toy would say Yellow and she would say ello. We have to be so careful of what we now say. My $45.00 pedicure is chipping and when I saw it I said oh crap! And right after me I hear a little voice ah crap!
Robin’s parents are coming for a week to help with the house, so we have been working on Grandma Judy’s name. She says ma ma ju ju. I think it is so cute!
Kenidee is also becoming a bit to trickyfor her mom. The other day I was putting laundry away and she must not have been able to find her stool, so she got all the pillows off our bed and stacked them up so she can reach the light switch. Yesterday I was in the other room and she came in holding a huge knife…..and looking so proud of herself. Her face seemed to say look mom, aren't you so proud of me. Needless to say we moved the knives.
Kenidee wants to be big so bad if I give her a Sippy cup and get me a drink she has to have a cup without a lid. The thing is my daughter is a dipper. She will dip anything. When I make her eggs in the morning I give her some catsup with them and she will dip her fingers in the catsup. One day she got the pickles out of the fridge and also a thing of yogurt. You guessed it she dipped pickles in her yogurt. This day wasn’t so bad she was just dipping her binky in her water. She was having fun!
Her favorite place to play at my sister’s house is the stairs. She will take toys to the stairs and play and play with them. The other day I was listening to her as she had her Disney princesses on the stairs. She had lined them up on the stairs and she sat on the stair below them. She would point to a princess and tell her “no no no” then give her a gentle push down the stairs. Do you think she gets told now a lot?
She is growing up so fast, and learning so much. She keeps us busy but We love having her in our lives.

Cali. Trip!

California

We are finally home. We had such an adventure! To give you a little summary of what we did I thought I might share with you the schedule we were to follow. Tuesday: load buses at 6:30 & leave at 7:00 pm (yes we spent our first night on the bus) YUCK! We got to California at 12:00 on Wednesday, and went to the beach till 3:00. There were many students who have never been further south of Pocatello they loved the beach. It wasn't as warm as we had hoped for. The wind was blowing and the water was FREEZING, that didn't stop many of the kids from running and playing in the ocean. When we looked at the beach you could tell who was from Cali. and who was from Idaho. The Natives were enjoying the beach in long pants and sweaters, and none of them in the water. The crazy Idaho kids were all in swimsuits and playing in the water. The ones not in the water were still in swim suits and lying on the beach. We were brave enough to test our toes but that was all for us. After we went to the hotel and got ready to go to Medieval Times. We loved Medieval times! We eat with our hands and only had one napkin, and watch jousting and other medieval games. It was so fun each section of the arena had a Knight to cheer for. Ours happened to be the Red Knight. I would recommend doing this if anyone goes to California.Thursday was so laid back. We went to a light house, and hung out in the park all day. It was warm and beautiful. The Band, Jazz Band and orchestra all got to “practice” in the park. People were stopping and listening to them. Many commented on how good they were. Some of the workers from the light house came down to the park to listen to them. Rebecca also heard and Ice-cream truck so we got ice-cream from the truck. Ice-cream trucks kind of freak me out, but it was good ice-cream. We went back to where all the kids were with our ice-cream, and a rush of 220 kids ran to the ice-cream truck. What a good day for the ice-cream man. That night was the night we all went to WICKED! We were so excited! We all loved it. I so want to go back again. I suggest if anyone has the chance to see it our buy the sound track I would, I love the music. My sisters and I had to hold back so we didn’t belt it out with the cast! We got home about 1:00 in the morning. Friday we went to a flea market. We were so excited about finding so really good deals. When we got there and looked around we weren’t impressed so we decided to get pedicures. The sign said they were only $15.00. We thought that was a great deal so Rachelle and Rebecca went first and Andrea and I went to look around. In broken English the girls doing the pedicure told Rebecca and Rachelle that a French tip would last longer and it would be $10.oo. Then the girls told bec and chelle that they were going to buff their toes to get the stain color out. They asked them if it was ok. Beck and Chelle said sure. Then they painted the toes and asked if they wanted flowers. Sure flowers would be fun and festive. Oh and little jewels in the middle will be so cute and sparkly. So little did we know that the buffing was 10.00 and each flower was 10.00. So needless to say they charged us 45.00! Not quite what we expected. We were upset for a little bit then we started making jokes about it. i.e. Chelle fixing Rebecca’s hair. Chelle: You need nother bobbie pin. Becca: umm… sure. Chelle: good that be 10 dollar. We decided that the jokes we made about it was well worth the 45.00.That night the Band Jazz Band and Orchestra competed. They did really well. We found out later in the week that they all won 1st place in their division with a superior rating, and jazz band and Band took first over all the divisions. They really have a wonderful teacher who loves and cares about the kids; He has done great things for the music department at Rigby. That night we met up with Krey and Brandi and went to the cheesecake factory. (YUMM) It was fun to get to see them and their little girl. I think she likes me. I can’t wait till they are done with school and move closer. We all laughed so hard. As Brandi says it feels so good to get a good laugh in. I miss them. On Friday we got up at 5:00 am to get ready for the day and check kids out of their rooms. We left for Disney Land around 7:30.We were there when the parked opened. We were going to be in Disney until midnight. We rode rides bought souvenirs watched shows. The sun was shining and the temperature got over 100. I had a bad head ache so I called Kreyton and Brandi to come and rescue me from the heat and get a little rest. It was so good to see them again and see where they live and tell more stories, and laugh more. Thank you so much for saving me. I went back to Disney when it got cooler and found out that we were meeting at the bus at 10:00pm We were so excited. Then some of the kids chose not to listen to that and stayed in the park till after midnight. We didn’t end up leaving the park till 1:30. Then we were off back to Idaho. We got home around 9:00 last night. Yes another night on the bus, and can you image the smell: 43 people on a bus after being in 100+ weather not being able to shower. I bet you are all plugging your noses. Needless to say we did enjoy the wonderful warm weather. I got a head start on my farmer tan! We do love Cali. But we are so excited to be back home. I missed Robin and Kenidee so much. Thank you Mom and Liz for taking care of my little girl. She will miss her cousins to play with she now has to do with her boring old mom.

We are moved!

We are moved, thanks to all of those who spent many hours helping me pack and clean. Packing with Kenidee was hard. I tried all of the things people had told me: give them things to color the boxes, give them a box to play in let them pack the toys. Some of them worked for a little bit but not for long. here she is playing in the boxes I was trying to pack. I am off to Ca. with my sisters and neice to be a chaparone! We are going to do tons of fun things including going to Wicked! I can't wait.
