California

We are finally home. We had such an adventure! To give you a little summary of what we did I thought I might share with you the schedule we were to follow. Tuesday: load buses at 6:30 & leave at 7:00 pm (yes we spent our first night on the bus) YUCK! We got to California at 12:00 on Wednesday, and went to the beach till 3:00. There were many students who have never been further south of Pocatello they loved the beach. It wasn't as warm as we had hoped for. The wind was blowing and the water was FREEZING, that didn't stop many of the kids from running and playing in the ocean. When we looked at the beach you could tell who was from Cali. and who was from Idaho. The Natives were enjoying the beach in long pants and sweaters, and none of them in the water. The crazy Idaho kids were all in swimsuits and playing in the water. The ones not in the water were still in swim suits and lying on the beach. We were brave enough to test our toes but that was all for us. After we went to the hotel and got ready to go to Medieval Times. We loved Medieval times! We eat with our hands and only had one napkin, and watch jousting and other medieval games. It was so fun each section of the arena had a Knight to cheer for. Ours happened to be the Red Knight. I would recommend doing this if anyone goes to California.Thursday was so laid back. We went to a light house, and hung out in the park all day. It was warm and beautiful. The Band, Jazz Band and orchestra all got to “practice” in the park. People were stopping and listening to them. Many commented on how good they were. Some of the workers from the light house came down to the park to listen to them. Rebecca also heard and Ice-cream truck so we got ice-cream from the truck. Ice-cream trucks kind of freak me out, but it was good ice-cream. We went back to where all the kids were with our ice-cream, and a rush of 220 kids ran to the ice-cream truck. What a good day for the ice-cream man. That night was the night we all went to WICKED! We were so excited! We all loved it. I so want to go back again. I suggest if anyone has the chance to see it our buy the sound track I would, I love the music. My sisters and I had to hold back so we didn’t belt it out with the cast! We got home about 1:00 in the morning. Friday we went to a flea market. We were so excited about finding so really good deals. When we got there and looked around we weren’t impressed so we decided to get pedicures. The sign said they were only $15.00. We thought that was a great deal so Rachelle and Rebecca went first and Andrea and I went to look around. In broken English the girls doing the pedicure told Rebecca and Rachelle that a French tip would last longer and it would be $10.oo. Then the girls told bec and chelle that they were going to buff their toes to get the stain color out. They asked them if it was ok. Beck and Chelle said sure. Then they painted the toes and asked if they wanted flowers. Sure flowers would be fun and festive. Oh and little jewels in the middle will be so cute and sparkly. So little did we know that the buffing was 10.00 and each flower was 10.00. So needless to say they charged us 45.00! Not quite what we expected. We were upset for a little bit then we started making jokes about it. i.e. Chelle fixing Rebecca’s hair. Chelle: You need nother bobbie pin. Becca: umm… sure. Chelle: good that be 10 dollar. We decided that the jokes we made about it was well worth the 45.00.That night the Band Jazz Band and Orchestra competed. They did really well. We found out later in the week that they all won 1st place in their division with a superior rating, and jazz band and Band took first over all the divisions. They really have a wonderful teacher who loves and cares about the kids; He has done great things for the music department at Rigby. That night we met up with Krey and Brandi and went to the cheesecake factory. (YUMM) It was fun to get to see them and their little girl. I think she likes me. I can’t wait till they are done with school and move closer. We all laughed so hard. As Brandi says it feels so good to get a good laugh in. I miss them. On Friday we got up at 5:00 am to get ready for the day and check kids out of their rooms. We left for Disney Land around 7:30.We were there when the parked opened. We were going to be in Disney until midnight. We rode rides bought souvenirs watched shows. The sun was shining and the temperature got over 100. I had a bad head ache so I called Kreyton and Brandi to come and rescue me from the heat and get a little rest. It was so good to see them again and see where they live and tell more stories, and laugh more. Thank you so much for saving me. I went back to Disney when it got cooler and found out that we were meeting at the bus at 10:00pm We were so excited. Then some of the kids chose not to listen to that and stayed in the park till after midnight. We didn’t end up leaving the park till 1:30. Then we were off back to Idaho. We got home around 9:00 last night. Yes another night on the bus, and can you image the smell: 43 people on a bus after being in 100+ weather not being able to shower. I bet you are all plugging your noses. Needless to say we did enjoy the wonderful warm weather. I got a head start on my farmer tan! We do love Cali. But we are so excited to be back home. I missed Robin and Kenidee so much. Thank you Mom and Liz for taking care of my little girl. She will miss her cousins to play with she now has to do with her boring old mom.

How fun, I'm jealous! I totally want to see Wicked! I've heard from multiple people that it's really good. We went to a Midevil times at Myrtle Beach and had a blast, it's really cool. I guess they have them in different places. You went with RHS?? Go Rigby!

It's a party no matter where the 'Bennett' family goes. Good job scoring 2 napkins! Did you all wear red, white and black to Wicked on purpose? Very stylish! Glad you got some fun in the sun! Welcome home!

*This comment will cost you $10!*
